How do you ask someone what they're doing - Basic Korean Language 1

안녕하세요, ME again.... Finally I have time to writing my new post & fulfill my passion towards Korean Language again.
It's been a while since my last post about How to Introduce Yourself in Korean . You still remember it right ???? ᄏᄏᄏᄏ

오늘, November 27 is a special day because I'm 27 years old now. (Lucky number right ??) <3 <3
And I want to share a new lesson about "How to ask someone what they're doing in Korean Language".
(I think the title post is to longggg ᄏᄏᄏᄏ)

Let's start the lesson .....

Formula : NOUN + 은/(You use 은 'en' when last syllable consist bachim and use 는 'nen' when last syllable doesn't consist bachim)

For example :
1. 제 이름 노피예요  Pronounce : Je ireum en Novi ye yo. --> the last syllables 'ᄆ'is a bachim so we use 은 'en'
    My Name is Novi.

2. 저 노피예요 Pronounce : Jo nen Novi ye yo. --> the last syllables 'ᅥ' is a vowel so we use 는 'nen'
    I am Novi.

Other example :
1. 선생님 한국 사람 이 에요?  Pronounce : Son saeng nim en han guk sa ram i e yo?. --> the last syllables 'ᄆ' is a bachim so we use 은 'en'
Teacher are you a Korean ?

2. 노피 씨 회사원 이에요?  Pronounce : Novi-ssi nen hwe sa won i e yo ?. --> the last syllables 'ᅵ'is  a vowel so we use 는 'nen'
Is Ms. Novi an office worker ?

Formula : VERB/ADJECTIVE + -어요 / -아요 (You use -어요 '-o yo' when last syllable consist bachim and use -아요  '-a yo' when last syllable doesn't consist bachim)

For example :
1. 먹다.   Pronounce : Mok da, means Eat. --> the last syllables 'ᄀ' is a bachim so we use -어요 '-o yo' and the words will be 먹어요 Pronounce : Mok o yo .
We can use it in sentence : 친구와 밥을 먹어요 Pronounce : Ching gu wa bab eul mok o yo, means  Eating rices with friend.

2. 자다.   Pronounce : Ja da, means Sleep. --> the last syllables 'ᅡ'is  a vowel so we use -아요  '-a yo' and the words will be 자요  Pronounce : Ja yo .
We can use it in sentence : 지용 씨는 자요. Pronounce : Ji yong ssi nen ja yo, means   Mr. Ji yong sleep.

Now let's start our conversation :

나 : 지용 씨 뭐 해요?    Pronounce : Na : Ji Yong -ssi nen mwo hae yo ?
Me : Mr. Ji Yong what are you doing ?
Answer...
지용 : 노래 해요 Pronounce : Ji Yong : No rae hae yo
Ji Yong : I'm Singing.

지용 : 노피 찌 뭐 해요 Pronounce : Ji Yong : Novi -ssi nen mwo hae yo ?
Ji Yong  : Ms. Novi what are you doing ?
Answer...
나 :  공부 해요 Pronounce : Na : Gong bu hae yo
Me : I'm study.

You can also ask the person you talking to with further question, for example :
나 : 지용 씨 어디에 가요?    Pronounce : Na : Ji Yong-ssi nen odi e ka yo ?
Me : Where Mr. Ji Yong going?
Answer...
지용 : 공원 가요 Pronounce : Ji Yong : Gong won e ka yo
Ji Yong : Going to the park.

OR

나 : 지용 씨 가요?    Pronounce : Na : Ji Yong-ssi nen jib e ka yo ?
Me : Mr. Ji Yong going home?
 Answer...
1. 지용 : 네, 집 가요  Pronounce : Ji Yong : Ne, jib e ka yo.
Ji Yong : Yes, going home.
2. 지용 : 아니요, 백화점 가요  Pronounce : Ji Yong : Aniyo, baek hwa jom e ka yo.
Ji Yong : No, going to department store

Notes : We use means go to/at before mention the place name.
Now, you can try to fill the underlined words with your own word. Here's some of vocabulary you can use :

일하다 = Work  Pronounce : Il ha da
자디 = Sleep  Pronounce : Ja da
공부하다 = Study   Pronounce : Gong bu ha da
운동하다 = Exercise   Pronounce : Un dong ha da
전화하다 = Call   Pronounce : Jon hwa ha da
이야기하다 = Talk   Pronounce : I ya gi ha da
먹다 = Eat   Pronounce : Mok da
가다 = Go   Pronounce : Ga da
보다 = See   Pronounce : Bo da

학교 = School  Pronounce : Hak kyo
대학교 = University  Pronounce : Dae hak kyo
고등학교 = High School Pronounce : Go deng hak kyo
중학교 = Middle School Pronounce : Jung hak kyo
초등학교 = Elementary School Pronounce : Cho deng hak kyo
공원 = Park  Pronounce : Gong won
회사 = Company  Pronounce : Hwe sa
식당 = Restaurant  Pronounce : Sig dang
시장 = Market  Pronounce : Si jang
집 = House  Pronounce : Jib
백화점 = Department Store   Pronounce : Baek hwa jom
영화관 = Cinema/ Theater  Pronounce : Yong hwa gwan

Now I guess you can start a conversation with your Korean friend when you meet them.
Once again, I'm not a native Korean speaker so please correct me if there's misleading information in my post & hope my post useful.

Don't hesitate to contact me on Facebook, Twitter or my email pipi_2711@yahoo.co.id if you need more information about my post. I will be glad to help you.

How to Introduce Yourself in Korean - Basic Korean Language 1

안녕하세요, 제이름은 Noviani 예요 (*Hello, My name Noviani).
Today, I will share to you " How to Introduce Yourself in Korean" such as your name, age, nationality, hometown & job. Before that, you still remember my previous post about hangeul ?? If you haven't read, click here . It will help you to be able to reading hangeul if you already memorized the alphabets.

Below is a table of hangeul for your quick reminder :

Now let's move on to the next lesson shall we.

이름  : 저는      노피아니   예요Pronounce : I-reum : Jo-neun Noviani ye yo.
Name : I'm         Noviani         .

나이 : 저는    스물여섯      이에요. Pronounce : Na-i : Jo-neun se-mul yo-sot sal i e yo.
Age   : I'm    26 years old       .

나라         : 저는      인도네시아   사람 이에요. Pronounce : Na-ra : Jo-neun Indonesia sa-ram i e yo.
Nationality : I'm          Indonesia        people.

직업 : 저는    회사원      이에요. Pronounce : Jig-ob : Jo-neun hoe-sa-won i e yo.
Job    : I'm an     office worker .

Notes :
You can see that at the end of some sentence I use -이에요/-예요. What is the difference ??
Well, we use  -이에요 if the last syllable of the sentence consist of 받침 'bachim' and we use -예요 if the last syllable of the sentence doesn't consist of 받침 'bachim'. When the consonant is in the final position of syllable it is called a 'bachim' .
The sound of consonant makes can sometimes change whether it is in the initial positon or the bachim. You can read more about bachim from Korea Tourism Organization Official Website in here

For example :
I use -이에요 when I said my nationality "저는 인도네시아   사람 이에요", in this sentence 사람 'sa-ram' is the last word and consist of bachim 'ᄆ' (m)
I use -예요 when I said my name "저는      노피아니   예요" , in this sentence 노피아니 'Noviani' is the last word and doesn't consist of bachim and 'ᅵ' (i) is a vowel.

Let's Get Acquainted with Hangeul - Basic Korean Language 1

안녕하세요, been a while since my last update. I'm busy with my works & Korean Class. (but I'm enjoyed my time)  ^0<
Today I want to introduce you with hangeul (한글), I can guarantee that most people who love K-POP or K-drama will also love hangeul and want to know more about this alphabet.
Before that, let's read a history about hangeul a little bit.

Hangeul (Korean Alphabet) was created by King Sejong. You already know King Sejong ???
You can see his picture on 10,000 won bill & there's also a big statue of him that you must visit when you have a chance to visit Korea.

King Sejong created hangeul because he found great injustice in the fact that it was mostly Joseon elites who could read and write Hanja (Chinese Characters) that were used that time. This ability to commnunicate using the written word meant huge power for the upper classes, so when King Sejong decided to create a phonetic alphabet for the masses, he knew he would meet lots of resistence. For this reason, King sejong created alphabet in secret with help from just a few people. And now hangeul used by all Koreans today. Hangeul had 10 vowels and 14 consonants.

Previously I read that the oriental philosophy including concepts like Yin and Yang, Ohaeng (The Five Elements) and Cheonjiin (Heaven, Earth & Man) went into the making of Hangeul. I liked philosophical elements things, because of that I became more interested with hangeul.

For Yin & Yang concepts, it said that every vowel must be accompanied with a consonant to make a syllable in Korean. No one letter can stand alone.
Another interesting point related to Yin and Yang, it was thought that vowels have either  positive or negative values.  The vowels that point up or to the right were seen as bright and positive (ㅏ,ㅗ), and the ones that point down or to the left were seen as dark and negative (ㅓ,ㅜ).  For example words : 밝다’(bright) and ‘어둡다’(dark). You can see that bright using 'ㅏ' and dark using'ㅓ', 'ㅜ'

For Cheonjiin, it said that world consisted of 3 things Heaven, the earth and man. This 3 things is symbolized with : Heaven = ".", the earth = "ㅡ" and man = "ㅣ".
You can see these symbols on vowels in Hangeul.

Cheonjiin Concept : Heaven, Earth & Man
Now, let's see 10 vowels of Hangeul below :
Vowel        Name       Sound
        a (아)         a
        ya (야)       ya
        eo (어)       eo
        yeo (여)     yeo
        o (오)        o
        yo (요)      yo
        u (우)       u
        yu (유)     yu
       eu (으)     eu
       i (이)        i
The names of the vowel letters are simply the vowel itself, written with the null initial ㅇ ieung (because vowel must accompanied by consonant to make a balanced syllable). For example word : '우유' (milk), in here ㅇ ieung become silent so you pronounce 'uyu' .
But when there's consonant letter before vowel you don't need to add ㅇ ieung, for example word : '사랑' (love), in here you write'ㅏ'in '사' without ㅇ ieung  and ㅇ ieung at the end of syllable '랑' become -ng so you pronounce 'sarang' .

And for 14 consonants of Hangeul below :
Consonant     Name                    Sound
giyeok (기역)                G
nieun/niŭn (니은)          N
digeut (디귿)                 D
rieul/riŭl (리을)             R/L
mieum/miŭm (미음)      M
bieup/piŭp (비읍)          B
siot (시옷)                     S
ieung/iŭng (이응)          -NG at the ending of syllable
jieut/chiŭt (지읒)           J
chieut/ch'iŭt (치읓)       CH
kieuk/k'iŭk (키읔)         K
tieut/t'iŭt (티읕)            T
pieup/p'iŭp (피읖)         P
hieut/hiŭt (히읗)           H
The consonants have two-syllable names, with the consonant coming both at the beginning and end of the name.

Besides basic vowel above, there's also Dipthongs (Combined Vowels) as below :
Letter        Name       Sound
      ae (애)         ae
      yae (얘)       yae
      e (에)          e
      ye (예)        ye
      oe (외)       oe
      wae (왜)    wae
      wa (와)      wa
      wi (위)       wi
      wo (워)      wo
      ui (의)        ui
      we (웨)      we

There's also Double Consonant, the sound of double consonant is similiar to the original consonant, but more tensed and stronger. You will need practice to be able recognize the difference, right now i'm still practicing too ^0^  ᄏᄏᄏᄏ
LetterName
        ssanggiyeok (쌍기역)
        ssangdigeut (쌍디귿)
        ssangbieup (쌍비읍)
        ssangsiot (쌍시옷)
        ssangjieut (쌍지읒)

One important thing when you learn hangeul is, how to write in a right way. A simple thing to remember the right way is stroke from left to right and top to bottom which one come first. Below is some example :

Are you familiar with 한글 now and want to know more?? Wait for my next post, I will share some Korean Vocabulary and how to introduce yourself in Korean.
I'm not a native Korean speaker so please correct me if there's misleading information in my post & hope my post useful.
One more things, please make sure to visit Korea Tourism Organization Official Website to learn more about Hangeul , more interesting philosophy and how to pronounce it in right way. 감사합니다.....

[buzz Korea] Explore Seoul, Chuncheon and Jeju with Tokki & Friends

안녕하세요, I want to share a story about my plan to go to Korea again, hmm this year ?? or maybe next year?? (Keep Praying)
Actually the post content is based from my other blog that I made for Asia On Air Program. But I edited the content a little, hope you enjoy. And Let's explore Korea with me (Tokki) & my friends........

1.Explore SEOUL, the capital city of Korean.
First, I want to experience the traditional cultural feeling by visiting Joseon Dynasty palaces & other Historic sites. From all the palaces, I want to go to Gyeongbokgung palace because National Folk Museum of Korea is located inside that palace. In this museum, I can learn the cultural & daily lives of ordinary Korean people. Next place is to go to King SeJong Statue and try to seat on royal chair replica at The Story of King Sejong Exhibition Hall. Then I will go to take a picture at  Yi Sun Shin Admiral, play at water fountain & watch music/ live performance that usually held at Seoul Plaza. Last, I want to visit Bukchon Hanok Village to learn about Korean Traditional House.
Second, I want to go shopping at several market in Seoul. I want to go to Insa-dong that famous with art gallery & buy a mother of pearl box (najeonchilgi) for souvenir. I want to try speciality snack of this place called kkultarae. I will also go to Namdaemun Market that sells almost everything with affordable prices, Myeongdong Market to shop at Migliore/Lotte Dept store & try "media wall" a box that can take a picture and send it to our email for free, Dongdaemun Market that famous for clothes & accessories product & buy a good quality Hanbok at Gwangjang Market.

Oops, there's still so many places that I haven't visit so I decided to take a second day trip in Seoul.

Then I will go to Teddy Bear Museum & Love of Lock at N Seoul Tower to take a picture with cute Teddy Bear & lock my name with my soulmate. A luxury fashion streets at Apgujeong, Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam is a must visited place too, I want to drink a coffee or eat cakes at Cube Studio. Many major entertainment company located in this area such as JYP Ent, SM Ent & Cube Ent. After that I want to learn making kimchi at Pulmuone Kimchi Museum & see Aquarium in COEX Mall.
Last, I want to go to Trickeye Museum & Hello Kitty Cafe at Hongdae. Wait, Hongdae Free Market is a must visit too but I heard that the market only open on Saturday 13.00 until 18.00 (from March to November). Last I will end the night with eating street snacks and drink soju at Pojangmacha.

2. Enjoy the scenery at CHUNCHEON
At Chuncheon there's an island called Namiseom, this Island is famous for their beautiful tree line roads and many K-drama took a scene at this island like Winter Sonata. I also want to try go down using a wire cable from an 80 meter-high tower in Namiseom Zip Wire.
After that I want to go to Chuncheon Myeongdong to eat Makguksu (noodles with hot sauce and vegetables) & visit Cheongpyeongsa Temple.

 3. Alluring JEJU ISLAND
Jeju Island is sometimes referred to as “Samdado Island” (삼다도, meaning the “three many”) because of its abundance of rocks, women, and wind.
There's so much thing to do in this island. [buzz KOREA] - Tokki's Dream to Revisit Korea and Meet with 2PM & Miss A

안녕하세요, My name is Noviani from Indonesia but my family usually call me Tokki  .
I write this post to share about my passion towards Korea especially with their culture, language, foods, beautiful scenery, K-Pop, K-drama, wait I think I interested in all about Korea. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Aah, yesterday my family celebrate Mooncake Festival (Mid-Autumn Festival) that fall on September 30, 2012. It's a popular lunar harvest festival celebrated by Chinese people. And happen on this year Korea also celebrate a harvest festival called Chuseok on September 30. So my family and I also want to say "Happy Chuseok Day" to Korean peoples.
Left to Right : Sha, Fan, Iin, Me, Yenni & Ay2
I travelled to Korea once on March 2007. I choose Korea not intentionally, I just decided that I want to celebrate my university graduation by travelling abroad for the first time. I'm always interested to know about culture or traditional heritage from other countries. So I'm searching on Google about a country that had a traditional heritage yet modern and then a several images appears on my Notebook screen. I'm in love when I saw pictures of Gyeongbokgung Palace, Nami Island & Mount Seorak and deeper in love more after my trip from Korea. At that time I only knew about Korea from K-drama like Winter Sonata, Daejanggeum, Hotelier, Endless Love etc. So I decided to go to this country to knew more things about Korea.
For this trip I used tour & travel services because I didn't know about the language and transportation in Korea. I also a little afraid since this is my first trip. But nowadays we can find information regarding the tourist site, accomodation, transportation, learn a conversation using Korean language or etc through official website like Korea Tourism OrganizationBuzz Korea & Touch Korea
There's also "Visit Korea 2.0" a smartphone application for travel in Korea developed by the Korea Tourism Organization.
If you are questioning, Buzz Korea is a global campaign and an integrated online community platform site that reveals Korea's tourism attractions and a variety of Korea-related contents through social media like Blogs, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc.
And Touch Korea is an interactive program that give you an experience to discover the charms of Korea online. You should try playing Touch Korea, it's really a fun experience. You can try lock of love attractions at N Seoul Tower, take a picture of traditional Korean wedding with your partner, making Kimchi, play Jegi-Chagi (Korea traditional game) & many more.

Here's a story about my trip to Korea & why I fall in love with this country :
This is the first time I use airplane as a transportation, but luckily I get Korean Air for my first flight experience. I enjoyed my time using this airlines, the flight attendant is  pretty and nice. The food is delicious too, especially the Cheesecake Ice Cream for dessert. I arrived in Korea on 10.00 AM and the local tour leader Kang Ji Eun-ssi bring us to Daejanggeum Theme Park to saw a filming place of the drama "Daejanggeum". I also had a chance to wear a hanbok (Korea Traditional clothes), take a picture with the main cast figurine. ^^ & eat ddeokboki.

We also go to Chuncheon Myeongdong to grab a lunch, we ate Dakgalbi (a stir-frying marinated diced chicken in chilli pepper paste with sliced cabbage, sweet potato, onions and rice cake). It taste delicious, the ahjuma owner also teach me to eat the dish with unique way. We took a fresh cabbage, put the chicken meat and chilli paste, rolled it and then eat it. I've only seen this on K-drama before, it's really great that I can experienced this. I also taste my first kimchi, it taste delicious and I try several types of kimchi while I'm here.
After that we spend our time to shopping at Chuncheon Myeongdong Street, this street is also famous for Winter Sonata filming scene. I also buy a giant strawberry (I mean this the biggest strawberry I ever saw), it tastes very good & sweet. How can I not love this country when I can enjoy many delicious meals here. ^^ --> Delicious Food

We go to Vivaldi Resort to take a rest at night, this place is famous for ski resort in winter.
At the morning, we go to Mt Seorak to visit Shinheungsa Temple, Grand Bronze Budha and ride a cable car to Gwongeumsong Fortress. The mountain was named Seorak because the snow would not melt for a long time keeping the rocks in a permanent state of white.
On our way to Mt Seorak, our bus stopped for gas. There were two ahjuma selling a black sesame candy and give us a free samples. Although we didn't buy, they remained friendly and chatted with us. I also remember when I'm arrived at Seoul, because I wasn't used to the weather in Korea, my facial skin gets really dry and peeling. There was an employee of cosmetics store that I've visited gave me a sample to apply into my face. The next day my face has improved. One more point why I love Korea. >< --> A friendly peoples

Next day, our destination is to play at Everland Themepark (an open space amusement park). I'm so excited in here, there's a parade show, beautiful garden and many cute merchandise store. Unfortunately, not long after I arrived a heavy rain is pouring down. All the attractions closed, so I spend the day mostly on merchandise store.

Today is my last day, finally I go to visit Gyeongbokgung Palace at Seoul. The palace is more amazing & beautiful than the pictures I saw on the internet. I also visit the National Folk Museum of Korea located inside the palace. For my last destination, I went shopping at Dongdaemun Market for souvenir. And actually I'm a little amazed when Ji Eun eonnie told me that the market is open until dawn. But isn't that a good news? especially for a girl like me that loves to shopping till drop. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Other point --> Culture/Traditional Heritage, Beautiful Places & Shopping Paradise

My trip to Korea ends here... but wait it isn't end here, it's only temporary because I already decided when I'm in the plane headed back to my country that I must visit Korea again. There's so many places that I haven't visited (Nami Island, Teddy Bear Museum, N Seoul Tower, Myeongdong Street at Seoul, Apgujeong-Cheongdamdong-Gangnam and many more). There's so many thing I want to try like Jjimjilbang (public house), Noraebang (karaoke box), drink maekgolki at Pojangmacha etc. You can read my other blog about the things I want to do/ places I want to revisit in Korea related to previous event Asia On Air Program here

It's been 5 years passed since my last visit, through several years my interest to Korea grew more. I try many Korean food like ddeokboki, samgyetang, bulgogi, bibimbap and jjangmyeon in my city. But I think the best way is to taste the dish from origin country.  K-Pop Idol also gave me a positive personal influence besides their song/performance which tone up my daily life, that we shouldn't give up and work hard to pursue our dream. Almost all the K-Pop Idol must endure years training before they debut and become succeed.
I also try to learn hangeul from Charm Lee's Beginner Korean Class & now continuing my curiousity by attending the Korea Class at Korea Cultural Center Indonesia. My teacher Kim Jae Wook (김재욱 -선생) is very nice. He is so funny when he try to speak in Indonesian. Last week he celebrated his birthday, he gave us a slice of his birthday cake. Yummy.

I'm only beginner right now, but I hope someday I can speak Korean fluently and chat with my penpal friend Jung Eun Shin-ssi using Korean. I meet her from SNS, she's a very kind and pretty girl. We had a same interest about K-Pop Idol & K-drama. She also told me that I must visit Korea again, since there's a lot of changes from 2007.
Thank you for give me opportunity to share my passion towards Korea through this event. I know my trip is an old story but it's also unforgettable moment for me. I hope I will be choosen as one of the winners so I can share you a new story about my trip to Korea and how I met with my idol 2PM & Miss A.

STIIL ALIVE - BIGBANG (English Lyrics)

Here the english lyrics for Bigbang "Still Alive" (new version for ALIVE), the song still amazing with a  meaningful lyrics

I’m still alive
I’m still alive
I’m still alive
I may seem like I’m dying but I won’t die
I won’t escape the other’s eyes and hide
I’m falling down till the end as if it’s for show but I’m alive
There’s nothing more to lose now, I’m gonna push the past behind and jump out
The image of me falling deep is so beautiful
I’m even more alive at this moment
I’m still alive
The girl who loves me looks unhappy
I’m covering up my tracks, I’m afraid of the public
The adorations, cheers, and emotional turmoil
I think deeply about death on this miserable night
The only articles that remain of my youth are pictures
My youth is a decoration for others
My senses have received a spiritual energy
I’ve seen a future that you haven’t seen yet
I conduct my own life melody
I enjoy the rising climax
The girls who go crazy over me are smart
Because I play with you out of self-reproach
Even if everyone leaves, even if everyone turns against me
Even if you take pity over my pathetic self
The world tells me that I can’t but
The crying me of the past is now smiling
I’m falling down till the end as if it’s for show but I’m alive
There’s nothing more to lose now, I’m gonna push the past behind and jump out
The image of me falling deep is so beautiful
I’m even more alive at this moment
I’m still alive
I’m still alive I’m still alive I’m still alive
I’m livin’ that I’m livin’that good life
I’m still alive I’m still alive I’m still alive
We livin’ that we livin’ that’ good life
Yea, instead of the sounds of cheers that disappeared silently
There are sighs of admiration mixed with groans
During this age of sensitivity, my reflection is like praise
A malignant broadcast is scarier than a benign one
Awaken yourself from everything a-yo
Don’t be so upright at any time
I may seem like I’m dying but I won’t die
I won’t escape the other’s eyes and hide
Those pointed fingers are proof that I’m still an issue
Disappointment and hope are the reason and basis
Malicious gossip go up and down in people’s mouths
The only thing waiting for me is a tomb filled with sunshine
Even if everyone leaves, even if everyone turns against me
Even if you take pity over my pathetic self
The world tells me that I can’t but
The crying me of the past is now smiling
I’m falling down till the end as if it’s for show but I’m alive
There’s nothing more to lose now, I’m gonna push the past behind and jump out
The image of me falling deep is so beautiful
I’m even more alive at this moment
I’m still alive
I’m still alive I’m still alive I’m still alive
I’m livin’ that I’m livin’ that good life
I’m still alive I’m still alive I’m still alive
We livin’ that we livin’ that good life

SINGAPORE - LION CITY (PART 2)

Hello there, today I'm excited to write down another experience that I had in Singapore. ^^
Here's my itinerary for two last day :

- Fourth Day, August 12, 2012

I'm planning to visit Marina Bay today to saw Gardens By The Bay, it's a new vision of creating a City in a Garden with Go Green concept. The weather is extremely hot today, so I decided to visit the conservatory first. There's two conservatory right now, Flower Dome & Cloud Forest. We must buy the ticket first before we can get in, the ticket price is SGD 28 for two conservatory. After buy the ticket, I decided to enter the Flower Dome First. It's very windy inside and my eyes amazed by how high the ceiling & the conservatory is very big too. There's so many kind of flowers from around the world that I haven't seen. But from all of those flower, I like Orchid the most. I grew up with this flower all around my terrace house, it's my father favourite flower and he choose my last name from this flower too (Orchid = "Anggrek" in Indonesia & my last name is derived from it "Anggreni").

After enjoyed the Flower Dome, we moved to Cloud Forest. In the front door we will be amazed with  35-metre indoor waterfall, to see all the conservatory we use the elevator to the top and walk using the circling bridge to go down. There's so many interesting information that caught my attention, ie Indonesia has a Cloud Forest in almost all regions. It's very cold inside and we can smell the forest scent, after reach the top I starting to use the circling bridge. I'm a little afraid when I'm looking down due to the height. Then on the 1st floor you can watch the 5 minutes movie about Plus 5 degree, the story is about global warming and what will happen if our world temperature rises 5 degree. It's time for us to change our life style, starting from one person "yourself" is a good milestone.
After saw the conservatory, we ate our lunch at Texas (there's not much option for lunch in here). The culinary momentum of the day is the biscuits I ate at Texas, it's like a soft poffertjes rich with butter. This biscuits aren't available at Texas Indonesia. After lunch I'm buying ticket for OCBC Skyway SGD 5, we can see the view from the bridge between Supertrees. (Supertrees at night is very beautifull too, the trees will glowing with many lights)
In afternoon, I choose to walk to Science Center & see casino inside the mall and watch free show "Wonderfull - The Light & Water Spectacular" at night. The best spot to watch this show is at Event Plaza, the show is started at 08.00 pm and second show at 09.30 pm. I recomended you to watch the show.

- Fifth Day, August 13, 2012
My last day in Singapore, I'm decided to enjoy my time walking all around the mall at Orchard Road.
But before that we visited Clarke Quay, there's also a mall in this area and when night this area will glow with many lights and it's famous for the cafe/ pub with river views.
The mall I've visited in Orchard Road was ION, Tangs, Wisma Atria etc (there's so many) but I didn't buy anything, what I'm doing was window shopping. ^_<
At night, I'm craving for Laksa again luckily I found it in Food Hall at Wisma Atria. For dessert I'm trying Uncle Ice Cream, it's like a common ice cream with bread or cone except the seller usually is an uncle or aunty. Ke...ke..ke....

From this journey, I experienced this :
- The transport especially MRT is very simple, you  don't have to worry to get lost.

- In singapore no single language is really used, I can hear many languages while in the MRT or on the road.
- The prices for mineral water in bottle is expensive, the cheapest one I found was SGD 1/bottle or SGD 1.2/ 2 bottle (1 bottle = 600 ml)
- For many attraction in Singapore it will be better if we planed in advance what attraction we would like to watch, because most of the attraction is not include in entry ticket cost so you must spare the extra cost.
(But there's also an amazing free attraction like Wonderfull show in Marina. Botanic Garden, Chinese/Japanese Garden etc)
That's all my journey to Singapore, I can't wait to post another experience about my trip. I hope I can go to Singapore again too, I haven't visited Singapore Flyer, Marina Bay Sand Hotel skyline & Jurong Bird Park.
